My first knowledge of building construction was gained through practical experience by working on building sites. This provided me with the opportunity to learn from highly skilled craftsmen about various construction methods.
Having been inspired by this experience, I developed a passion for architecture and design and in 2000 I took the opportunity to work as an apprentice within an architectural practice in Czech Republic. I then progressed to the position of an architectural assistant and completed a part time course equivalent to HND in Civil Engineering at Technical College of Ceske Budejovice.
After having worked for five years in the architectural profession in my homeland, I decided to seek some international experience. This led me to Scotland and Edinburgh Napier University (ENU), where I completed my BSc(Hons) and MSc Degree in Architectural Technology.
In my first and second year and then again during my master’s at ENU, I worked as a part time / free-lance architectural technician for a leading architectural practice in Edinburgh, LEEBOYD Architects. This was my fist working experience abroad with a great influence on my future career achievements.
During my academic studies, I also took part in "SAPPI" research project (for FOREST PRODUCTS RESEARCH INSTITUTE), working as a research technical assistant. I was responsible for production of specialist construction drawings, including 3D isometric models, essential for manufacturing of prototype testing equipment.
After completing my master’s degree, I was offered a one-year postgraduate placement at a company called CARBON DYNAMIC which specializes in and pioneers the off-site manufacture of sustainable buildings.
Between June 2014 and September 2016 I have been working as a senior architectural technologist for Glasgow-based architectural office, G1 ARCHITECTS.
In September 2016 I have come back to Czech Republic and I have began working for one the best renowned design and engineering domestic companies AED PROJECT.
At the same time I have began working on PhD at The Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University in Prague (FA CTU) . The name of my thesis is: GENESES OF MODERN INTERVENTIONS INTO THE URBAN STRUCTURE OF THE HISTORICAL TOWNS
